There was a small settlement called "Highpool" you could visit in the original Wasteland. During your visit, it was possible to slip and fall on some slippery rocks which would cause a bunch of kids to laugh at you. You were given the option to kill these kids (or just ignore them). If you opted to attack, after wiping them out there wouldn't be any blood or bodies, and they'd simply reappear. Attacking them again, and wiping them out, no blood or bodies. Eventually, after attacking them so many times, they would finally be killed and a mysterious man would suddenly appear out of nowhere (known as the "Red Ryder" I believe) and attack. Video Demos are used to showcase the key info about the product and its benefits, marketing is proving to have a huge impact. If you killed the Red Ryder, Highpool would suddenly, and instantly, turn into a ghost town. Whereas before going on your rampage, Highpool was inhabited, green, and had water flowing into it. After your rampage, it would be completely uninhabited, barren, and the water would be dried up.
